Place-Based Media Arts is assisting students to create media arts projects that are meaningful for themselves and their community.

Media Literacy


Media Literacy is an essential collection of skills that give students the ability to effectively read and write media.  UNESCO defines it as, "the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, and produce communication and information in a variety of forms and means."

Based on a Local Legend, this Short Film was Created By STAR Middle School Media Arts Students, Taylor Long, Cedric John, Larissa Luther, and Makyla Allison, under the direction of Film Instructor Rachel Tso. Music by Verdell Primeaux & Johnny Mike, and additional music by R. Carlos Nakai, William Eaton, Will Clipman.
